Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to
share with you what makes our practice unique.
At the beginning of my dental career, I focused on improving the
techniques and skills acquired in dental school. Over time, I noticed
that many of my patients, including my wife, were experiencing problems
connected with their dental visits. The odors and materials associated
with dentistry were making them "sick." Reports of being
"sick" ranged from a few annoying hours to weeks in bed.
In searching for an answer to these problems, I developed a new
approach to dental materials. Today there is a simple test to help
determine your suitability to hundreds of dental products. With
the recent advances in dental materials, it is now possible for
you to have fillings, inlays/onlays, crowns and bridges that
are both nickel and mercury free. Natural, life-like porcelains
can be used to avoid the appearance of metal showing at the gumline.
The cosmetic result is exceptional.
As a senior researcher with the National Institute of Dental Research
in the 1960s, Dr. Paul Keyes developed the concept of anti-infective
gum therapy. This basic philosophy assumes that since periodontal
diseases are bacterial infections, the best results will be obtained
from treating them as such.
I advocate microscopic identification of pathogens, non-surgical
gum treatments, and an aggressive home care program as necessary
components of your wellness plan.
As a member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology,
I subscribe to standards of care defined by evidence-based research
and clinical studies. I have treated patients with multiple chemical
sensitivities (MCS) and heavy-metal toxicity for many years. More
importantly, I am committed to providing the same quality of dental
care to all of my patients, including those with special sensitivities.
